Sak Crete (Repair & Bond)

Sak Crete (Repair & Bond)

SAKCRETE DRB (Diversified Repair Bond) is a professional-grade modified Styrene-Butadiene Rubber (mSBR) liquid polymer admixture designed for high-end concrete structural repairs, waterproofing, and high-strength bonding applications. Engineered with advanced mSBR technology, it enhances the physical properties of cementitious mixes by significantly improving tensile, flexural, and adhesive bond strengths. It creates an impermeable matrix that shields structural elements against moisture ingress, micro-cracking, and chemical attacks, making it a highly versatile solution for modern construction rehabilitation.

application process

Step 1: Surface Preparation

  • Chip away all weak, loose, and spalled concrete from the target repair zone using appropriate mechanical tools to expose a sound structural substrate.
  • Clean the exposed steel reinforcement completely using a wire brush to remove all traces of loose rust and oxidation scales.
  • Wash the area thoroughly with fresh potable water to remove all remaining dust, dirt, debris, and oil contaminants.
  • Allow the surface to dry slightly to a saturated surface dry (SSD) condition, ensuring no standing water remains before application.

Step 2: Application

  • Prepare a high-adhesion bonding slurry by mixing the liquid polymer admixture with cement in the recommended technical proportions.
  • Brush the mixed bonding slurry firmly onto the prepared concrete substrate and exposed reinforcement steel bars, ensuring an even, continuous coat.
  • Mix the high-performance repair mortar or concrete patch mix separately, using a calculated dosage of the admixture in the gauging water.
  • Apply or place the modified repair mortar mix firmly over the bonding slurry while it is still wet and tacky to avoid cold joints.

Step 3: Finishing / Curing

  • Trowel and level the freshly applied repair mortar smoothly to match the surrounding concrete structural profile cleanly.
  • Protect the freshly repaired surface zone from direct sunlight, high winds, and heavy rainwater during its initial setting stage.
  • Initiate standard water curing practices or apply a curing compound once the modified cementitious layer sets firmly.
  • Maintain a continuous wet curing process for a minimum of three to five days to achieve maximum strength development.

Surface Preparation

Apply only on properly prepared and structurally sound concrete profiles. Follow recommended surface preparation and application practices to achieve optimum durability and a flawless finish.
